Is Sandustry on Xbox Game Pass? PC & Console Status
Yes, Sandustry is on PC Game Pass. Check its Game Preview release date, Windows installation route, Microsoft Store features, and current Xbox console status.
Yes—Sandustry is available through PC Game Pass. Xbox Wire lists Sandustry (Game Preview) as a PC Game Pass release for August 13, 2026, and the Microsoft/Xbox Store product page says Play with: PC.
There is no current official evidence for a native Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S version. The word “Xbox” in the store and subscription branding does not mean the game runs on an Xbox console.
Sandustry Game Pass Status
| Question | Current official answer |
|---|---|
| Is it in Game Pass? | Yes, PC Game Pass |
| Release date | August 13, 2026 |
| Release state | Game Preview / work in progress |
| Play-with field | PC |
| Xbox console version | Not confirmed by the current listing |
| Store capabilities | Single player, Xbox achievements, Xbox cloud saves |
Xbox Wire places the game under “PC Game Pass” and links to the Microsoft product page. The product page’s subscription area also labels the offer PC only. These are the platform fields that matter more than the page being hosted on xbox.com.
How to Install It with PC Game Pass
- Open the Xbox app for Windows or the Microsoft Store on your PC.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that holds PC Game Pass or an eligible Ultimate subscription.
- Search for Sandustry (Game Preview).
- Open product ID 9PPH71DV44T7 and confirm that the page says PC.
- Choose Install and select a drive with enough free space.
- Launch the game from the Xbox app after installation finishes.
You can also purchase the PC product separately from the same store page. Recheck the live subscription label before paying because Game Pass catalog availability can change.
Is Sandustry on Xbox Consoles?
The current answer is not confirmed. Microsoft’s store page lists:
- Play with: PC
- Included in these subscriptions: PC only
- Capabilities: Single player, Xbox achievements, Xbox cloud saves
Xbox Wire gives Sandustry a PC Game Pass label but does not give it the Optimized for Xbox Series X|S or Xbox Play Anywhere badges shown for console-capable games elsewhere on the same article.
Achievements and cloud saves are Xbox-network features available to PC games too. They are not evidence that an Xbox console can install the product.
Game Preview versus the Steam Release
“Game Preview” means the Microsoft release is still a work in progress and may change before a final version. Steam likewise sells Sandustry as an Early Access game.
| Store route | Confirmed platform information | Store features |
|---|---|---|
| Xbox/Microsoft Store | PC; included with PC Game Pass at the time checked | Xbox achievements and Xbox cloud saves |
| Steam | Windows, macOS, and Linux | Steam achievements, Steam Cloud, and Workshop support |
Choose the store based on the device and ecosystem you actually use. The collected sources do not confirm that saves or achievements transfer between the Steam and Microsoft Store editions.
Does It Work on Mac or Linux through Game Pass?
The Xbox/Microsoft Store listing is a PC product in the Xbox app ecosystem; it is not the source for macOS or Linux builds. Hooded Horse’s Steam FAQ states that Sandustry launches on Windows, Mac, and Linux, so players on macOS or Linux should use the official Steam route and verify the current store requirements.
Xbox Features Explained
Xbox Achievements
The Microsoft Store build lists Xbox achievements. You can earn them while playing the PC product with the relevant Microsoft account.
Xbox Cloud Saves
The listing also includes Xbox cloud saves, which can help synchronize progress within the supported Microsoft/Xbox PC environment. No collected official source confirms cross-save with Steam, so treat the two storefronts as separate save ecosystems unless a later developer announcement says otherwise.
Single Player
The product page marks Sandustry as single player. For the difference between the official mode and experimental community co-op mods, see the Sandustry multiplayer status.
Before You Subscribe or Buy
- Confirm the product page still shows PC Game Pass; catalogs can change.
- Use a Windows PC for the Xbox app version.
- Do not assume “Xbox cloud saves” means Xbox console support.
- Use Steam if you need the confirmed macOS or Linux release.
- Expect changes because both Game Preview and Early Access describe unfinished software.
