Sandustry Aura Guide: Extractor, Auralite and Unlocks

Use this Sandustry aura guide to unlock the Aura Extractor, turn Florinol into Aurixite and Auralite, form crystals, command the swarm, and earn Aura.

To produce Aura in Sandustry, convert Florinol into Aurixite with a Synthesizer, process Aurixite through Shakers to make Auralite, then place an Aura Extractor so it can pull in Auralite and form Auralite Crystals. Command the Extractor’s nanobot swarm to break those crystals down into Aura.

Sandustry Aura Production Chain

Aura is the end of a late-game chain that starts with Amethelis. Each material changes form or uses a different machine, so confirm the output of one stage before expanding the next.

The two collected gameplay videos show the Synthesizer consuming 800 Energy per conversion. Treat Energy supply and Florinol delivery as separate checkpoints: a full liquid input does not help if the Synthesizer lacks Energy.

How to Unlock the Aura Extractor

The official wiki places the Aura Extractor at Viability/Factory Tier 6. Recent gameplay footage shows another commissioning requirement: produce 1,000 Auralite through Shakers to make the Aura Extractor available in the technology tree.

This means reaching Tier 6 alone is not the entire setup. Unlock the Synthesizer, establish the Florinol-to-Aurixite conversion, and run enough Aurixite through Shakers to complete the Auralite milestone.

Aura Extractor Mechanics

When the Extractor has room, it attracts Auralite globally every few seconds toward a glowing point that moves within its radius. Auralite that reaches this point is consumed and becomes an Auralite Crystal.

Select the placed Aura Extractor to reveal the nanobot swarm target, then drag that target onto a forming crystal. The swarm breaks the crystal down into Aura. Aura is a non-physical currency similar to Fluxite, so there is no solid by-product to transport after this stage.

With enough Aura, Swarm Zoning can be researched so the swarm targets emerging crystals automatically. Until then, crystal extraction requires manual targeting.

Extractor and Shaker Layout

Build the Aurixite Shakers close to the Extractor’s radius. Because the Extractor attracts Auralite across the map, a distant transport line can become unreliable: material may be pulled away before Conveyors or Launchers deliver it as planned.

ComponentPlacement priorityReason
SynthesizerNear stable Florinol and EnergyBoth inputs must be available for Aurixite production
ShakersClose to the Extractor radiusReduces conflict between Auralite attraction and transport
Aura ExtractorIn a permanent, accessible areaIt cannot be moved while it contains Auralite Crystals
Swarm target areaVisible and reachableManual extraction requires targeting forming crystals

Choose the Extractor’s location before scaling production. The official page states that it can only be moved when no Auralite Crystals remain inside it.

Aura Achievements

The collected achievement guide identifies two relevant milestones. Aura Extractor is awarded for unlocking Aura Extraction through the Swarm Console. Full Circle is tied to filling the Aura circle and reaching the next factory-tier milestone. These follow the normal production chain rather than requiring a separate Aura recipe.
